Our Foundation level qualifications provide an excellent introduction to HR and L&D. As well as providing a recognised professional qualification, they help you to acquire a wide range of relevant, practical skills that you can apply in the workplace. By successfully completing CIPD’s Foundation Certificate or Diploma qualifications you’ll become an Associate and professional member of the CIPD (Assoc CIPD).
There are three kinds of CIPD Foundation Level qualifications:
- CIPD Foundation level Awards
- CIPD Foundation level Certificates
- CIPD Foundation level Diplomas
To meet your personal and professional needs, you can study CIPD qualifications:
- Full- or part-time
- In a block format
- Blended (ideal if you can't get to a CIPD centre).
- Mixed mode study (for more experienced professionals).
CIPD qualifications offer flexibility to studying HR or L&D pathways or a combination of both:
Human Resources pathway
Units are available at all three levels on these key areas: Resourcing Talent, Employee Relations, Employee Reward, and Performance Management. We also offer more specialist HR options.
Learning and Development pathway
Units cover a wide range, from Undertaking a Learning Needs Analysis to Preparing and Designing, Delivering and Evaluating L&D activities, through to Organisation Design and Organisation Development, and Coaching and Mentoring.
If you wish, you can mix units from the HR or L&D pathway, within our rules of combination.
Becoming a member of the CIPD brings many benefits. As well as raising your profile professionally, CIPD membership gives you exclusive member-only access to the latest HR and L&D resources, development tools and networking opportunities. Continuing your membership after successfully completing a CIPD Certificate or Diploma qualification means you'll move from Student to Associate and professional membership of the CIPD. Associate professional membership will help to raise your profile with employers, and you use can the designation Assoc CIPD after your name.
